Paypal "Type 2" Forms
Setting up your website template:

Step 1:
EDIT FLASH ANIMATION: | Click for more details
Open the "flash.txt" file with Notepad or a plain text editor and edit "Your Website Title" with your name or company name. Be sure not to delete the "logo=". Also edit or remove the "&slogan=Optional Slogan can go here" with your slogan. Be sure not to delete the "&slogan=". You can edit the seven "&textlines" with whatever words you want to show up on your homepage (index.html). This will update the Flash animation on all pages. There are 2 total flash animations. One on the index, and one for all the other pages. If you wish to use a graphic logo, there are instructions later in this document.

Step 2:
EDIT COPYRIGHT: | Click for more details
Open the "copyright.js" file in Notepad or any text editor and edit the "Your Company" with your name or site name. This will update the footer info on all pages.

Step 3:
EDIT CONTACT INFO: | Click for more details
Open the "contact.js" file in Notepad or any text editor and edit the company name, address, phone and fax number and e-mail address (info@your-web-domain.com in 2 places). This will update contact info on the "contact" page. This is done in a .js file so search engines won't see your e-mail and you'll get less spam.

Step 4:
EDIT THE CONTACT AND QUOTES FORM:

Click for current info on setting up the template forms.

Click for info on adding more fields to the forms.

Click for changing form sizes or colors.

If you want to use only e-mail on the contact page you can remove the contact form from the "contact.htm" between the comment tags.

Because of the complexity of setting up the quote form, there are notes in the "quotes.htm" to help you cut and paste to add new form fields. The form will work with most contact form scripts however you will need help files or a sample form from the script you intend to use. Most form elements work the same way from script to script, however the hidden values usually vary. You may want to consider editing the entire page in Notepad instead of a wysiwyg editor.

Step 5:
REPLACE THE GALLERY GRAPHICS: | Click for more details | Thumbnail Help
Because this template includes a slideshow, the best way to setup the pictures in the gallery and the slide show at the same time is not to actually edit the HTML pages and change the pictures on each individual page. The fastest way is to simply replace the pictures in the "gallery" folder with your own by overwriting the files that are in there now and using the same generic names.

Replace the 36 "Fgallery" pictures in the "gallery" folder with full size photos. Replace the 36 "gallery" pictures with your thumbnails. The thumbnails are now 130 x 87 pixels. This is a fixed size on the pages for better display. You can make your full sized pictures any size that you would like, because the popup and slide show will automatically resize themselves.

You may want to replace some of the pictures in the "picts" folder with your own pictures. All pictures are named to correspond to the pages that they are displayed on. They are all .jpg and .gif files.

IMAGE VIEWER OPTIONS: | Click for more details
You can change some options for the gallery and slideshow image viewer page (image-viewer.htm) by editing the pop-closeup.js in Notepad. Options include new browser window, or popup for the viewer.

Step 6:
EDIT PAGES: | Software choices | Notepad Editing
Edit the text on all HTML pages with your information. You can use Expression Web, Frontpage, Dreamweaver, CoffeeCup, any wysiwyg HTML editor or a text editor like Notepad. Take care not to delete any of the HTML tags that surround the text.

Step 7:
EDIT TITLES, DESCRIPTIONS AND KEYWORDS: | Click for more details
Open each of the pages and change the titles (at the very top of the page) and also the description and the keywords with your product or service information. You can edit one page and copy and paste to the other pages. Be careful to only change what's inside the "" so you don't disturb the html code. Page titles are important so your site will get a good listing at Google, Yahoo!, Bing and other search engines.

Step 8:
UPLOAD: | Click for more details
Upload the pages on to your hosting company's server using ftp software or Windows Explorer or your control panel. Be sure to upload the "picts" and "gallery" folders and all files in these folders.

Options:

USING A GRAPHIC LOGO:
You can replace the Flash logo with a graphic logo. To do this, delete or rename the "header.js" and the "header_home.js", then rename the "graphic_logo_header.js" to "header.js" and the "graphic_logo_header_home.js" to "header_home.js". In the picts folder you will find a graphic called "logo.jpg". Edit this graphic with your logo. Edit the header background color and logo opacity in the "header.js" and "header_home.js".

USING THE PINK MENU BACKGROUND:
To change the menu background color to pink: In the "picts" folder, delete or rename the "menu-background.gif". Rename the "menu-pink.gif" to "menu-background.gif". Test any template page. Or instead, you can edit any HTML page and edit class="menuback in 1 place near the top with class="menubackpink

WATERMARK SETUP: | Click for more details
You can configure the placement, opacity and whether or not to have a watermark over the images in the closeup views. You will edit the "watermark.js" to change options. In the "picts" folder is a .gif image called watermark.gif. You can replace this image with your own .gif image. If you change the size of the watermark.gif you will need to do some extra editing in the watermark.js file. Click here for details. NOTE: The watermark.gif in this template is not transparent.

FONTS: | Click for more details
You can change your font colors and sizes by editing the "coolstyle.css" with a text editor. You can find other font colors by clicking here. You can also change the font sizes in the "coolstyle.css" file. Change the "TABLE" px size to change the copy on all pages. Change the "title" px size to change all the title sizes.

CHANGING LINKS / ADDING TO THE MENU: | Click for more details
You can change the names of the links like "about" or "clients" to other page names by editing the "menu.js". Only change the one instance of the name and not the name with the ".htm" after it. Whatever you change in the menu.js will change every page on the website. Keep the names short so they don't go outside the menu. You can add more pages by copying one link in the "menu.js" and pasting it right below the next. Be sure to back up your files before you edit them. There are notes in the "menu.js" for adding more links.

You can also edit the gallery navigation bar:
image
Open the "menu_gallery.js" file in Notepad and copy and paste to add more galleries to the navigation.

ADDING PAGES: | Click for more details
You can add pages to your website by copying and pasting any one of the pages and renaming it to whatever you need. You can then add text links on the other pages or in the "menu.js".

CHANGING THE GRAPHICS/PICTURES: | Click for more details
You can replace the page pictures and backgrounds with your own pictures. You can use any size picture you want and the pages will size them to fit automatically. Each page has it's own pictures which are named according to the page they're on. You will find all pictures in the "picts" folder. Hover your mouse over any image in the "picts" folder to see the image size in pixels.

SETTING UP THE SLIDESHOW PICTURES: | Click for more details
The slideshow is currently setup to display all 36 pictures in the gallery folder. If you would like to add or remove pictures from the slideshow, open the slideshow.htm in Notepad and look for the "EDIT THIS AREA" note. Copy and paste to add new pictures to the list, or delete lines to remove pictures. You can also set the AutoPlay speed. Look for "var rotate_delay = 3000".

SIZING THE SLIDESHOW:
Edit the variables at the top of the "pop-closeup.js" to change the slideshow popup size or to not have it work as a popup.

SITE MAP PAGE:
The "site_map.htm" is linked from the index.html. It is best not to remove this link so search engines can find your site map and properly list all your pages when users search at major search engines.

PAGE HEIGHTS & MARGINS:
So all your pages will maintain a standard page height a "pageheight.js" is included. Edit the height in the "pageheight.js" to adjust this.
